Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) 2013 Practice Schedule
The 2013 MCM is Thursday, January 31, 8 pm, to Monday, February 4, 8 pm.
There is little time to practice in January, since spring semester classes start Jan. 14.
Therefore there are a series of practices in the fall, in order that we may be ready for this prestigious competition.
Scheduled practices are on Thursdays in S115: 12:30 pm, 3:15 pm, (and 4:00 pm)
Extra sessions can be arranged for students who can’t make either of the Thursday sessions, or arrange your own.
Handouts (problems, solution papers, judge/practitioner comments) can be found outside S121E or contact Prof. Favro (favro@ltu.edu).

11/15 Optimization, Discrete models:
Snowplow Routes, Flatcar Loading, Hurricane Evacuation etc.
11/20 Tuesday practice (time TBA), due to Thursday is Thanksgiving, no school

12/6 Continuous models
12/13 Continuous models
Finals, vacation, Happy New Year!

1/17/13 Other models; Analyze summary pages; good writing; other analysis
1/24 Final preparations; Teams established, etc.
1/31 Meet about 7:30 pm in S115 for 8:00 pm contest start!
